We flew to Dubai to board the Azamara Quest for an 11 day trip in the 'peaceful' middle east (2 weeks before the hit on Soleimani). The map shows nearly all the stops: Dubai, Doha, Sri Baniyas Island, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Nizwa, 2 day sailing in the Arabian Sea where we viewed the eclipse, and finally Mumbai. The blue dot shows the boat when we were in the middle of the Straits of Hormuz where Iran was just ~10 miles north of us.
The Birj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world at 829.8m or 2717ft. It was a bit difficult to photograph if you're not 2 miles away so here is a montage. Trivia: the Khalifa was used in the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol film.
